Mission Statement
Our mission is to
educate the whole child; thus we endeavor to nurture every heart and
challenge every mind through the experience of meaningful inquiry.
Philosophy
At Country Day, we, as a
community of learners, seek to develop confident and caring students with
clear intellectual fortitude and a proclivity to question and explore
change rather than avoid it. To that end, we believe that our graduates…
•
must leave here with
an academic foundation made up of core skills and a deep and meaningful
reservoir of relevant knowledge.
•
must have a strong
sense of resiliency. We nurture and support our students, but do not
shelter them from the challenges of growth and maturation.
•
must have a strong
sense of compassion for others and for our environment. We expect our
students to be caring, contributing members to both our community and to
the broader community.
•
must be able to
question, critique, and then, through their own creativity, provide
alternative perspectives. We want our graduates to leave here confident
in their abilities to solve problems, to “think out of the box.”
